Speed a Factor In Deadly Texas Police Collision

State investigators were confident speed played a major role in a June 30 wreck that killed two teenagers and injured a Wichita Falls police officer.

An initial report from the Texas Department of Public Safety revealed Officer Teddy Whitefield was going at least 80 mph when his patrol car struck another vehicle. The occupants of that car, two teenage girls, both died shortly after the collision.
