In 2008, PDI was asked by the Union with the Omaha (NB) Police Department to conduct an analysis on their police vehicle related collisions and their driver training program.
The author of that study, Travis Yates, worked with members and instructors of the agency for approximately 6 months. The analysis concluded with an 8 hour course given to their driving instructors.
There has been a lot going in in Omaha since those days including massive retirements due to a change in the pension and at least two police chiefs but PDI is pleased with the progress of their training.
Here is a recent article on the training at OPD.
