Ohio Deputy Killed Deploying Stop Sticks

Sergeant Brian Dulle of the Warren County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office was struck and killed by a suspect’s vehicle during a pursuit early on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, three children, parents, and two siblings.

A vehicle pursuit had been initiated by the neighboring Franklin (Ohio) Police Department and traveled into Warren County shortly before 0200 hours. According to reports, the suspect had already run one squad car off the road and into a ditch, narrowly avoided hitting a second cruiser head-on, and then continued on at high rates of speed.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was driving down the wrong side of the roadway when he struck and killed Dulle, who was reportedly deploying stop sticks when the fleeing car struck the deputy, then rolled over and crashed.
