18 Year Old Killed In New Orleans Pursuit

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Authorities say an 18-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured when a car being pursued by New Orleans police crashed into their vehicle.

Mariah Woods died in the wreck early Saturday.

Authorizes say the pursuit began when an officer witnessed a vehicle making an illegal turn, then noticed the vehicle’s occupants throwing out a powdery substance.

The pursuit ended when the suspects’ car crashed into the car with Woods and her friends. Police arrested three men and found 50 foils of heroin in their vehicle.

They were booked with possession with the intent to distribute.

The driver was also booked with manslaughter and two counts of negligent injury.
