Initial reports indicate that an Idaho State Trooper stopped a Jeep Cherokee for a traffic infraction on State Highway 95 at Ohio Match Rd, which is east of the city of Rathdrum and north of Hayden, ID.

The Trooper made an initial contact with the two occupants of the Jeep; however upon his return to the Jeep, it fled the scene and ISP began a pursuit of it.  The Jeep drove in a southwest direction and stopped on Ramsey Rd, just south of State Highway 53.

There was an unknown altercation at that location where the Trooper fired his weapon at the Jeep.  The Jeep traveled about 100 yards and stopped.  At this point, there were two Troopers on scene and they were able to take the two occupants into custody.
