A police pursuit ended today when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a school bus in South Los Angeles, though it was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt.

The pursuit began around 3:30 p.m. when officers spotted a motorist driving recklessly near Washington Boulevard and Central Avenue, said Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“It was really quick,’ French said of the pursuit. “This thing started about 3:30 and was literally over a few minutes later.”

The driver rammed the school bus near San Pedro Street and 51st Street, French said, but it was unclear if the bus was occupied.

The pursuit ended shortly after the crash at Main Street and 76th Place, where the unidentified suspect was taken into custody, French said.
