LAWTON, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Lawton police officer has been killed in a single vehicle accident in his personal pickup truck.
Troopers say 37-year-old Kevin Schulte died in the crash about 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Schulte was a detective with the Lawton Police Department.
An OHP report on the crash says the truck Schulte was driving went off the road to the left and he overcorrected. The truck then crossed the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Schulte was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
