The attorney for the Miami police officer arrested at gunpoint and charged with driving recklessly in his marked patrol car at speeds of more than 120 mph on Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County said Monday that the allegations against his client are false.
Officer Fausto López’s lawyer, William Matthewman, said in a statement that López client is innocent of the charge of driving recklessly, a second-degree misdemeanor, on the morning of Oct. 11, when Florida Highway Patrol Trooper D.J. Watts stopped him near Hollywood Boulevard after a seven-minute chase
