Detroit Officer Dies After Being Struck By Car

A veteran of the Detroit Police Department who was hit by a car while on foot patrol in Greektown last Sunday has died.

Police were notified around midnight this morning that Charles Armour had died, Detroit Police spokeswoman Sgt Eren Stephens said. Armour worked for the department for more than 16 years, she said. A news conference is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. today at police headquarters.
