Deadly Cleveland Pursuit May Have Been Terminated

CLEVELAND — Cleveland’s police pursuit policy is now under scrutiny after two people are shot at the end of a 25-minute chase.

Malissa Williams, 30, the passenger, was shot 24 times. The driver, Timothy Russell, 43, was shot 23 times.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled both deaths homicides late Tuesday afternoon.

The two were shot and killed by 13 officers firing a total of 137 rounds.

The Cleveland Police administration is reviewing the radio transmission between districts and zone cars to determine whether policies were followed.
