Below 100’s Beyond the Borders was the opening presentation at the annual Legacy of Excellence Conference in Calgary this week. More than 130 Canadian officers from assignments across the country gathered to hear some great speakers. The focus of the conference was clearly on equipping trainers to change law enforcement culture in a positive way by creating a legacy of excellence.
Although the Below 100 initiative was started to drive down line-of-duty deaths in the U.S., law enforcement officers in Canada face similar challenges and losses. This was a Train-the-Trainer presentation and Brian Willis, the coordinator of the conference, challenged everyone to consider the Below 100 goal applicable to all of North America and work to change law enforcement culture in their agencies.
