Dalton police officer was injured just before midnight Friday when a tree fell onto the police car he was driving.
The Dalton police chief said the officer was on patrol on Lower Mill City Road in Dalton when heavy winds brought down a 30 foot tall pine tree onto the car.
The officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. The car the officer was driving was heavily damaged.
The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning Friday evening for Lackawanna County and several other counties across northeastern Pennsylvania.
