KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Two vehicles wrecked while responding to a burglary call in Kalamazoo, Mich. Those on board include a Lieutenant, an officer, a ride-along, and a K-9. The ride-along is a sophomore in college.
“These officers won’t be put on leave,” Brian Uridge KPDS Assistant Chief said. “It’s an accident. It’s an unfortunate accident. We need to concentrate on the fact that it’s a good thing that the officers are OK. Unfortunately, when responding to critical incidents like this, there’s an inherent risk with driving at a high rate of speed.”
The suspect in the robbery is still being sought.
