2 Kansas City Police Cars Collide, Officers Hurt

Four Kansas City, Missouri police officers were injured in an accident after their patrol cars smashed into each other during a chase.

Officers were pursuing a suspected car thief Saturday evening and the two patrol cars, carrying two officers each, crashed into each other near 21st Street and Wabash.

One car T-boned another in the pursuit, and one of the vehicles was sent flying up into the yard of a nearby home. A female officer had to be cut out of her patrol car; another officer spent the evening in an area hospital. However, the injuries sustained by all four officers were considered minor and all are expected to be okay.

Police said car chases can be difficult to coordinate.
